The Danish Open ended on Sunday with the country's hometown girl, Caroline Wozniacki, winning the title. The Dane defeated Klara Zakopalova, 6-2, 7-6(5), to win the inaugural event.
"I think it;s great for Danish tennis that this event happened, and it?s just nice that so many people came here to support me," said Wozniacki.
"I've got a big stretch of tournaments coming up, but I felt like I needed a lot of matches - my ankle is no longer an issue and when I'm healthy I feel like I really want to play."
It was Wozniacki's eighth WTA Tour title, second this year after winning the event in Ponte Vedra earlier this year.
