Justine Henin has announced she will be taking the rest of the 2010 season off due to her lingering elbow injury. The Belgian sustained the injury during her quarterfinals loss to Kim Clijsters.
She has not played since that match and has decided to take a rest to prepare for the 2011 season.
“I took several medical examinations and it is going in the right direction,” Henin said. “But it is still a slow recovery, so I need to be patient again until the end of 2010.”
She won Stuttgart and Den Bosch this year. Henin plans to make her comeback next year at the Hopman Cup.
