Maria Sharapova has been named the highest female athlete again this year due to her eight-year contract with Nike worth $70 million which was announced earlier this year. This is not including other sponsorships beside from Nike.
Sharapova's income is estimated at $24.5 million. Serena Williams follows with $20.2, Venus Williams at $15.4, racer Danica Patrick is 4th with $12, 2010 Olympic gold medalist Kim Yu-Na is 5th with $9.7, and Ana Ivanovic is at 7th with $7.2 million.
Ivanovic's countrywoman Jelena Jankovic is 8th with $5.3. of the top 10, most are tennis players and golfers.
