Henin vs. Clijsters: LIVE

If any of you are interested or in the mood for tennis. Go to the link below to watch the live telecast of Justine Henin vs. Kim Clijsters at the Antwerp Diamond Game.

Sampras Hears Some Good News

While most of his trophies might not be returned after they were stolen out of the storage facility, Pete Sampras will be happy to get some good news. The president of the International Tennis Federation has offered a replica trophy to Sampras for his two Davis Cups wins.

Sampras recently reported some of his trophies and memorabilia were stolen from a public storage facility in Los Angeles. Lucky he kept his Slam trophies home.

“We were sorry to learn of the theft of so many of Pete Sampras’s trophies," ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti says. "We know how special a Davis Cup victory is for a player, and if he is unable to recover the loss of his two Davis Cup trophies, we would like to offer him a replica trophy in recognition of his outstanding record in the event.”

Henin-Clijsters Doubles Team...Possible For 2012

Kim Clijster and Justine Henin will be playing for the first time since Wimbledon this year when they go against each other in less than two hours at the Antwerp Diamond Game exhibition. During a press conference earlier for the event, both talked about a possibility of playing together as a team for the 2012 Olympics in London.

They teamed up once before but lost to Russia at the 2006 Fed Cup quarterfinals. Both are using this exhibition as a warm-up for the Australian Open in a couple of weeks.

Henin won the Olympics in Athens in 2004 while Clijsters has never competed in the games. The three-time US Open champ skipped the event in 2004 due to a conflict with sponsor Fila and Adidas.

Del Potro Receives Sydney Wildcard

Former US Open champ Juan Martin Del Potro will kick off his 2011 season down under in Sydney. The Argentine received a wildcard from the tournament.

The former world no. 4 currently is ranked 259 in the world after missing most of last season due to surgery to his right wrist. He came back late this year in Bangkok and Tokyo but lost in the first rounds of both tournaments.

Sydney is played on Jan. 9-15. He joins Marcos Baghdatis and Sam Querrey among the players who have committed to the event.

Roddick Makes Davis Cup Comeback For 2011

Andy Roddick will be coming back to the USA Davis Cup team next season after a short hiatus this year when the American skipped the event to focus on his career. The US will be taking on Chile next March in the first round.

The USTA released a statement saying Roddick will make Davis Cup one of his top priorities next year. Jim Courier will take over as coach of the US team.

Roddick is 31-11 in Davis Cup play, trailing only John McEnroe's 41.

WTA Tour 2010 Awards

The following awards have been given to WTA players for 2010:

Kim Clijsters: Player of the Year
Justine Henin: Comeback Player of the Year
Maria Sharapova: Humanitarian of the Year
Flavia Pennetta/Gisela Dulko: Doubles Team of the Year
Petra Kvitova: Newcomer of the Year

I guess it was Serena Williams vs. Clijsters for Player of the Year but since Clijsters won 5 titles and played for the rest of the year, she won the award over Williams.
