This will be a long shot but Mardy Fish could cause quite a stir if he does maintain his summer form so farm and stun a few players to get into second week. Marin Cilic could be another contender if he keeps his head together and his serve.
Robin Soderling will be another threat for the Fab 4 and he will have his test with Federer again if both go far into the quarterfinals. We should also not forget about Andy Roddick.
The American is back in the top 10 and this is the lone slam he has won in his career. With a powerful serve but not much to back it up against the Fab 4, Roddick will need to put everything together to pull off some upset.
Nadal is struggling on the courts of the US Open so he will also have to dig deep. Both Murray and Djokovic could shine again, and the same thing can be said of Federer who is desperate to win this one beside from the Aussie Open.
