With the rain delay last Thursday, Tomas Berdych played late and thought with the no. 1 seed, he would get some kind of special treatment in the quarterfinals, but Berdych got none from the tournament so he was not happy after losing to Xavier Malisse.
So if you are expecting Berdych next year at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic, think twice because the Czech will not be checking back into the event.
"I don't see any other sports where they can have it like that," Berdych said of his loss to Malisse only 10 hours after playing his previous match due to rain delay. "In the first set I felt like I was still sleeping. I was not 100 percent ready and that's disappointing. I wanted to play better."
With the predetermined TV schedule already set, Berdych got no rest for the wearied.
"This is a pretty bad experience for a tournament where I'm first seeded. I thought I could get some better times with a No. 1 seed. It's the reason I'm not going to be here next year."
Would he had said this had he won the tournament???
