Even without a Top 10 player for the USA men, Sam Querrey is not hitting the panic button anytime soon. The 21-year-old Californian is playing in Toronto this week and expressed his view on the current situation.
"We don't have anybody in the top 10," said Querrey. "But Mardy Fish is playing great right now. I think after the US Open we could have four guys in the top 20, which we wouldn't have had in a long time."
It has not been a bad years for Andy Roddick, Querrey, and Fish. They have all won titles this year.
"I'm trying to do the best I can for myself and for American tennis," added Querrey. "I know Andy is also trying do that, and John Isner and Mardy Fish and James and Robby and the Bryans. We're all doing our best. Hopefully there can be a group of us that could go to the top 10."
Screw the ranking. Just win a slam, that's more important!
