French Open runner-up Samantha Stosur has not had a good hardcourt season leading up to the US Open due to injuries and bad losses, but the Australia said in an interview she is ready for the last slam of they ear.
“There’s no reason why I couldn’t do better than I have at the U.S. Open and I don’t know why I haven’t had a good result there,” Stosur said. “Last year I played lots of matches leading into New York, more than I ever had. The first time that happens it takes a toll. I was a little fried.”
Stosur has never advanced past the second round of the US Open. She is the fifth seed at the event.
