Forgive and forget is not one of Ana Ivanovic's specialities. The former world no.1 has declined a wildcard entry into the Rogers Cup next week after the tournament director, Eugene Lapierre, said some negative things about the Serb in a Montreal newspaper.
Lapierre had stated due to Ivanovic's ranking, which is 62nd, she didn't deserve a wildcard into the tournament. Now with him giving her one, Ivanovic is saying no because those comments hurt her feelings.
The 2008 French Open champ said she would love to play but decided the comments were hurtful so she will be skipping the tournament this year. Lapierre issued a statement later saying she is always welcomed at the tournament.
Ivanovic is having a good week so far in Cincinnati.
