The hype of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal playing doubles together was on the high Monday when the double pairs came up against Canadian wildcards Vasek Pospisil and Milos Raonic. With their inexperience playing together, Nadal and Djokovic lost out in three sets.
The two managed to save a total of three match points, but just could not do it all against Pospisil and Raonic. The Canadian duos won, 5-7, 6-3, 10-8.
Two other top players who were playing doubles this week also lost: Andy Murray and Robin Soderling. Murray and his partner Ross Hutchins lost to Philipp Kohlschreiber and Gael Monfils, 6-3, 6-2, while Soderling and Jarkko Nieminen got knocked out by Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra.
