How many match points can you save before you lose?
Defending champ Svetlana Kuznetsova would say about five or six. Moments ago, countrywoman Maria Kirilenko took advantage of her third match points and sent Kuznetsova out of the French Open.
Not a big shocker considering how bad Kuznetsova has been playing all year, but on the defending champ note, it is quite a shocker. Kirilenko once again knocks off another countrywoman to create a stir in the women’s draw.
Kirilenko knocked off Maria Sharapova at the Australian Open in the first round earlier this year.
I guess from now on all the Russian women will try to avoid Kirilenko as much as possible.
