French Open Rewards Henin...With Bad Draw

Justine Henin's road to the French Open is tougher she would have hoped for. She will open up against Tsvetana Pironkova but might have to face Maria Sharapova in the third round, Jie Zheng or Samantha Stosur in the fourth round, then probably Serena Williams or Mario Bartoli in the quarterfinal, and possibly Jelena Jankovic or Yanina Wickmayer in the semifinal.

If it was 2006 or 2007, I would give Henin an easy pass to the final against any of these players, but the way she is playing and her up-and-down serve, I don't know which Belgian will be showing up. The Stuttgart's Henin or the Madrid's Henin.

The same question could be said for Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic. The top half is the tough side, but no one is playing that great to call the top contender this year.

Aravane Rezai will have a big task on her shoulder but if she can play the way she did in Madrid, she could very well win the tournament and make the French crowds happy. But let's not forget Amelie Mauresmo and her story with the French Open.

I have a feeling Rezai will falter and lose early. The pressure will probably be too much.
