Roger Federer won easily today in his first round match against Peter Luczak, but one call made it tough on the world no. 1 to accept. On one of Luczak's serve, Federer thought it was out but the Chair Umpre said Nope.
The Swiss lost his cool for a few minutes but regrouped nicely to win, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2.
“It’s always important coming back as defending champion trying to get off to a good start,” he said. “It was like a perfect match to get off the French Open campaign, really.”
Luczak seemed to agree with Federer on the call.
“He got a bit of a rough call against him, actually,” Luczak said. “If it was anyone else, I’d be getting pretty angry. He just had me on a string and just (was) toying with me at the end. I think he was enjoying it.”
