Looks like Ana Ivanovic's slump continues on for now. The Serbian got a tough match and crashed out to Russian Ekaterina Makarova in three sets.
Ivanovic was able to save five match points during the match but the Russian won the match after nearly three hours. The Serb had to pull out of the Hopman Cup a couple of weeks ago due to an injury.
It might or might not have contributed to the loss, but nevertheless, Ivanovic will go back to work and hopefully the latter of the 2011 season will be better.
